Why do the "populars" get so much hate?
Okay, so I am in no way calling myself pretty, or gorgeous or better than anyone else. In fact, I'm actually pretty insecure. Anyways, my friend Cassie came up to me the other day and we were talking about school and stuff and she said "Oh you're lucky. You're popular." that kind of threw me because I've never really considered myself as popular-I'm just friendly with everyone. So within the next few days, I've been noticing that lots of kids hate the "populars". I mean, i know it's all with the social media and how we precieve populars to be. People expect the popular people to be like Regina from the movie Mean Girls but in fact, they are all really nice. I mean they're popular for a reason right? I just don't like to be hated-I don't think any one likes it! Aren't we over the whole posh, rich, glamorous, bitchy, head cheerleader stereotypes?

Everyone is insecure during school. Luckily I was blessed enough to have genes that made me look more attractive than a lot of people(Im not being mean but if your pretty .. you should know it). Im a Transsexual and I started my transition during high school. Im still in high-school. However, I do notice if your better looking or are well known people will generally treat you better. That makes some people hate another .

You said you are friendly with everyone. Then you go on to say that you don't like to be hated.
Therefore, your logic is questionable.
Furthermore, your friend is a loser so compared to her, she may perceive you to be popular- it's all about perception here. If you're not hated on, you're probably aren't popular.
Also, popular kids get hate b/c of stereotypes. Furthermore, they may be well-off and take things for granted, therefore being inconsiderate to others. Due to their sociable nature, they may not relate to introverted collegues and being young and possibly immature, they might think those who are different are strange. There is always a reason but in most cases, they hatefulness and cruelty may not be as overt as you see it in the movies.

Because they are easy to scrutinize. You are basically a celebrity in your school and we all know how critical the average person is to a celebrity.
