I have to create an ad for world of warcraft for a cosmopolitan magazine for english?
For english were working on our critical analysis paper and with it we have to effectively create an ad for WOW that appeals to the audience of the cosmopolitan readers. Im having a lot of trouble with the ad since their are really no similarites between the two. any ideas?

I am a girl that plays WoW, and on occasion have read cosmo. While I don't think WoW would appeal to most readers of cosmo, there are a few things that might draw them to it.
The main one would be character personalization. There are female humans, of course, but there are also night elves and blood elves and dranei which might be considered to be "cute" or "hot". Some people also think gnomes are cute (think pink pigtails).
You can choose hair style and color, tattoos (nightelves), and jewelry. With the profession of tailoring, you can make clothing for your character to wear, and quite a bit of the female clothing is revealing and "sexy".
WoW also includes a chat feature so you can talk with all your friends while you play, either by typing or with a headset.

market it as mostly a social network but with a difference, with avatars who play games and kill dragons or whatever it is wow players do. and emphasise that these can be made pretty and bla bla bla. say they might even meet their knight in shining armour on it, cos u can end up talking a large amount of people from all over the world.

Well if you try to market it as a game that wouldn't be a very wise ad for cosmo readers. You're best bet would be to advertise it as a social network, I have played wow for 5 years now and haven't quit solely because of how I can interact with people I have met on the game. Cosmo readers would more likely pay attention to anything that has social network stamped on it rather then addicting video game

You should market Jaina or Lady Windrunner and have them in a parody of a model fashion ad. That would be striking to whoever is assigning this assignment, because obviously they are obsessed with the World....of Warcraft.
