Twitter: how to stop businesses from advertising on my wall, and how to remove there posts?

I opened a twitter for reasons, being a public billboard for other business twitter accounts was not one of them. How could I stop this monstrosity.

You need to block all of those that are spamming your profile stream, that way they wont show up anylonger.

AND remember, only those who follow you can spam your stream, so you'd better set REQUESTS on, so you first manually approve followers in the first place.
