Why is my i-touch not letting me on the internet?

I live in a house where there is wifi connection available and I have gone on the internet by going to youtube, facebook, and other apps requiring connection. Now it's acting up because when I get on my i-touch it shows the little connection symbol at the top with either 1, 2, or 3 bars of connectivity, but it won't let me on anything requiring connection. What's happening?

check to make sure your wireless and regular modem are connected properly, and if you are running windows go into control panel/internet connections , right click your modem and say repair do the same for your wireless, see if that works
for mac: i do not know i have never owned a mac nor do i want to but you should know where the internet connection screen is right? just look for that and find something that means the same as repair
