I know that a lot of sports fans like to make competitions about a battle of morals - as if it really is that - but a lot of this mindset is completely made up and assumed.

As for those particular fans: every professional sporting event I have been to is full of drunken idiots. That's just how sports stadiums are. The only way to change that is to ban alcohol, but that's not happening.
