My friend gave me this Dell laptop and it's pretty crappy, but it works. He took out his USB and i have a brand new one for it, but some of his things are still on it. Music etc.

Hello Jen,

I am from Dell Social Media and Community.

Dell Systems ship with a factory image so that you can restore it original factory settings. This will delete all the data on a system and restore it. Follow the link below to restore your system to original factory settings:

If you are unable to perform Dell PC Restore by Symantec, it could be because of the corruption of the file/partition during a previous install. However, you can follow the link below to manually install the operating system using the recovery discs.

If this has not helped you or if you need any further assistance, feel free to message me on Twitter(@NiranjanatDell). I will be happy to assist.
