Quick Twitter Question: Direct Messaging?

I know you can only send direct messages to people you follow.
And people can send you direct messages if you follow them.

What happens if you send a message to someone that follows you but you don't follow them back. Can they not reply to the message because you don't follow them back.

If Andy follows Marie, but Marie does not follow Andy, she can DM Direct Message him, but he cannot DM her.

Nope they won't be able to send a message back. This pop-up will come up; "Your message could not be sent to '@name' because they do not follow you."
