My Dell inspiron n5050 makes a 5 loud beeping noises when it boots.?
So last night I knocked my laptop of my bed. I know thats not good, anyway when i did it it was closed and on sleep mode so after I cursed i opened it up to see if I had any damage and it worked perfectly, I the shut it back up. A couple hours latter I turn it on to get it out of sleep mode and it stared making horrible loud beeps when it booted up, then after that they are faint. But if you shut down the laptop and stat it when it is completely off it makes the beeping noises untill you get to the deck top and stops.

So my question is what did I do, Is my computer in danger, and can i stop it? I am asking the question right now on it so it works fine after the beeps during start up, so if it is not hurting my computer I could live with it but I don't want to.

thanks

Hello Joe Avery,

I am from Dell Social Media and Community.

As per the system diagnostic indicator, it means that the issue is with the CMOS battery. You may follow the users manual and verify if the CMOS battery has popped off its socket.

Also, follow the link below to run a basic hardware test on your system.

If you get any error code, you can associate it to the list given in the link below.

If this has not helped you or if you need any further assistance, feel free to message me on Twitter(@NiranjanatDell). I will be happy to assist.
