How do I buy Facebook stock? ?
Please explain the most helpful information you can. I just want to buy one share, and it's my first time. I use Facebook daily and support the social network site.

Why would you? It has got to be super expensive right now and it is doubtful it will grow in value.

You can but it with any stock account. It's ticker is FB, it's IPO $38, and will be on the market for the first time tomorrow (May 18)!

A less volatile way of investing would be to buy stock in the Price Rowe index fund, a steadily growing stock. Ticker: PRTX

Supposing the much-ballyhooed preliminary community providing of Facebook or myspace comes off later this weeks time, you should have no problems getting Facebook or myspace stocks. However, it's extremely unlikely you'll be able to get them at the ideal preliminary providing cost.

As soon as the IPO is accomplished and stocks start dealing, you'll be able to buy them at the rate through any agent. The more concern, though, is should personal traders be purchasing Facebook or myspace stock? I say the response is no, with a few exclusions.
If the value of the stocks you plan to buy symbolizes only a small aspect of an otherwise broadly-diversified collection -- or you're committing a sum that's not really significant to you -- I assume I could see getting a brochure on Facebook or myspace.

Or, if Facebook or myspace gradually becomes aspect of a wide standard like the Dow Jackson U.S. Complete Inventory Industry Catalog -- as The search engines did about monthly after its IPO in 2004 -- I'd have no issue with personal traders having Facebook or myspace stocks within a catalog finance or ETF that paths the index.

Otherwise, I think you're better off just viewing the whole Facebook or myspace craze from very far.

You can buy it through your online broker if you subscribe to one.

It will be trading on the NASDAQ today, ticker symbol FB, when the market opens.

I would stay FAR AWAY for now. Wait until they make their financial report publicly available.

Even GM just withdrew its 10 million dollar ads from Facebook because it believed advertising on Facebook did not affect sales. That is the main issue. Think about it, do you buy or even notice what is on Facebook? I never notice the ads or even know what is being advertised. I never even click on the ads.

Also, big investors are getting a first shot at the $38 price. Small investors will not be able to get it at that price which is already inflated until we really know what the value of the company's business yields. As one analyst described it, "it's like throwing a dart in the dark."
