1) Name your video file with relevant keywords before you upload to YouTube.

2) Title your movie with catchy keywords AND BE SURE TO DO YOUR RESEARCH.

3) Fill out the video description with at least 2 - 3 paragraphs of text.

4) Put all the keywords from the title and description in the "tags" section.

5) Share your video with all your friends.

6) Make a video response to an already popular video on YouTube.

7) Encourage sharing, allow comments, video responses and embedding of your video.

8 ) Embed your new video prominently on your website to create 2 way traffic.

9) Have your fellow bloggers reference or embed the video on their site as well.

4 Ways:

1. Go post it on your Twitter, Facebook, and other Social Media Sites. Make all your friends to watch it, and all your friend's friends. But remember, the video has to be good enough for this to work.^

2. Make lyric and/or gaming walk through videos. Try to get a shutout by famous you-tubers too, and hope for the best.

3. Go to sites where you pay them for them to give you views. This helps you, well get views, and it helps other people to subscribe, because they think many people are also intrigued by your videos.

4. If your vlogging, you need to edit out buzzing noises, have an intro, introduce yourself and your name, come up with a name for the viewers (i.e. bros, guys, beauties), make sure you edit your voice clearer, have many cuts, and get the video/audio HD (at least 480p).

P.S. Don't rely on you tube for $$ or anything (been there done that). You can be unpopularized really quickly, and its hard to get into the "big leagues". Only few videos go viral compared to the trillions of videos on youtube, and big youtube stars mainly get up there by luck or starting their channels in the "Good ol' days" (aka when youtube just started).

if you have a large friend base on face book, you could post a link. you could blog. post flyers. knock on doors. do the sunday talk show circuit. find a high end movie star to help spread the word. tv ads. There are all sorts of things but the real key is to make sure it's good.
