Why do guys delete facebooks, twitters, etc. after a breakup?
My friend and her boyfriend just broke up yesterday and he deleted his facebook today. Mine did the same thing once we broke up. At first I thought it was just something my ex did but once my friend's boyfriend did it too I'm now wondering why guys delete everything. It just seems weird because girls normally don't do that.

Girls want closure and think they can still be friends, plus they like to keep tabs on the exes. Guys want to move on.

For guys it's about closure and fear as well -- fear that the girl might lash out about the break-up on FB or Twitter and leave embarassing details about their sex life, dating, secrets shared, etc.

My boyfriend actually made his Facebook so he could talk to me because i didn't have a phone at the time. He even tells me that's the only reason he has Facebook is to talk to me(: That could very well be why they remove them. They used it mostly to talk to you and see what you are up to. So, now that you're not together, Facebook isn't relevant to them. Or, it could be easier to them to remove it to not be tempted to go on and see what you are up to. They could have even just blocked you. But, you sound pretty sure they have removed it. Although, there isn't really a way of knowing. Everyone removes them for their own reason.

I dunno if you specifically wanted guys to answer, but i wanted to give you a little input.

I hope you get the answer you're looking for!(:
