how do i change the setting so i can see @replies people i follow send to people i dont follow. i cant find the setting.

There is no setting for this. To view the @replies they send to others you have to go on their profile and view their tweets.

when you log into twitter, on the sidebar it says "HOME" underneath it should say @(your twitter username here)
click on that link and you can see all the replies to you |
