How should I tell my friends that I'm taking a stage name?

It's not the end of the world, I just made some music that I want to share with my friends on twitter, but the music is made by "Clementine," not Anna. How do I go about this? Just tweet "hey, my fake name is Clementine for anyone who cares."

Your pen name is Clementine. There should be no problem telling your friends you have a pen name. It has been done all the time.

It's not a big deal to have a pseudonym, so don't sweat it. Just post to your friends something like "Hey guys, just an FYI, I've been writing some music recently and am going to publish it under the name Clemintine"
