whats the first step to getting the media to report a story ?
Social services have torn our babies from a loving family home. We have been lied to, misled and over-powered by them in a 2 yr long painful battle. We feel that there's some kind of corruption involved in our case. We are looking to the media to possibly help in our plight by reporting on how, our babies have been emotionally abused and our human rights infringed. UK media connection please.

Find someone in the local newspaper, and send them an e-mail. If that person finds it interesting, he or she will investigate.

Don't go on and on; stick to the basics for now.

Good luck.

HELP every one can you report

gfsahf answer
--------------------------------------------

I am sorry that things are bad for you.

But please please consider what you are seeking to do in involving the Press. Stories get twisted and it is very difficult to deal with reporters and to get your points in print.

dealing with the press and the outcomes of publicity may well add to what is a very difficult situation.

Perhaps in the first instance you could seek advice about the social workers and what they have done from other sources

Maybe CAB or look for a Family Lawer in the local area - do not worry about getting the right one just call around and see if there is any source of help for you.

If you still want to contact the press then take a little time to write down facts about the case.
Names dates etc.

Look for your local paper and get the contacts from there

email or write just a brief note and hopefully they will pick up on it.

You can also use the papers letters page to write in about you case.

The local council MP whatever may also be able to lend support.
do this prior to contacting the paper and then tell the paper you have been in touch with your Councillor or MP - this will help get a story into print.

again contact them with a brief note.

I do hope things get better.

Just a thought and I apologise if this over complicates thngs

but

http://www.liberty-human-rights.org.uk/index.shtml

this gives details about our human rights

Respect for privacy and family life and the right to marry – protects against unnecessary surveillance or intrusion into your life. You have the right to marry and raise a family.

Freedom of thought, religion and belief – you can believe what you like and practise your religion or beliefs.

Free speech and peaceful protest – you have a right to speak freely and join with others peacefully, to express your views.

No discrimination – everyone’s rights are equal. You should not be treated unfairly – because, for example, of your gender, race, sexuality, religion or age.

it may well be the case that your rights and those of your children have been violated.

Read this and this may give you some pointers about Social Services and the actions they take now.

You can phone up your local newspaper/email them - they usually have contact numbers somewhere in the paper.
Or you could try emailing the BBC or something, but try a local or regional paper first.

This is not the answer you're going to want, but it's the truth. Most newspapers are going to turn you away, not because they don't believe you, but because they'd have a hard time proving your case and are not ethically able to fight your battle for you on the front page.

Your best course of action, to get a reporter's attention, is to align yourself with several other families this has happened to. There is strength in numbers, and as a reporter who covers crime, I can tell you that the more people who complain about an issue, the more I listen. Good luck!
