If a girl calls a guy 'baby' or 'babe' does that necessarily mean they go out?

If a girl calls a guy 'baby' or 'babe' does that necessarily mean they go out?
So theres a guy I've liked for a very long time. He seems to like me, because he has called me pretty when we went to the movies, and flirts with me a lot. All of my friends think he likes me too.
He also has a Twitter, and he just tweets about his favorite singer. He only has a couple friends from real life on there. But, there is this one girl who he talks to sometimes on there. She does piano covers and lives on the other side of the US. She has called him 'babe' and 'baby' with a heart. They have also said "I love you," or "I love you too." They don't even know each other in person. On his facebook it says he is single...and he still flirts with me. A lot. I don't understand! If they are saying these things to each other, do they go out? What should I do? Thanks. Ads |

Well when people say babe and baby that dont mean they go out....but as for the I love you part, he's trying to be a two timer and trying to get in sum girls pants, stay away from him, i dont trust him...those type of relationships end in heart ache and head ache

Where I live, in the deep South, all women refer to all men as "honey", "sugar", or "baby".
It's not sexual at all, it's just a blanket term of endearment. |

No. But I considered it unclassy and annoying. Either a guy is your babe or he isn't. Although I called my ex babe for a long time b/c it was a habit. Eventually it went away.

Probably not, though I'm not 100% sure. You could try asking him. Good luck! :-)

There's a difference between liking and flirting. If you REALLY like him... ask him if he likes you too. or you can ask him on a date. And if they are saying these things is doesn't necessarily mean they are dating. Just ask him out, the worst he can do is say no.
