I'm looking for a Web to sms script any ideas on a free or inexpensive script?

This is what I would like happen. I want to embed a code on my site (wordpress) and Html pages that will allow people to send me a text message directly to my phone and I would respond going right to their phone. How can this be accomplished

You can't, you'll need an account with an sms portal. When you decide on the portal, use their code - they're all different.

Generally speaking, you can e-mail an SMS to a cell phone. Your SMS e-mail address will be something along the lines of yournumber@yourcarrier, e.g. 1234567890@mail.att.com

There are a number of e-mail form plugins at http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/

Another option is to set up a twitter account and link your phone to it. This, of course, would require the people sending you messages to also have a twitter account; but the primary purpose of twitter is to be a Web to SMS gateway.

If you want 100 percent clean SMS integration, then as previously noted, you'll need a gateway service such as ClickAtell.
