i totally understand, im trying to learn to program and web devlop and such myself. im still a novice so after reading what i say you should look it up and think for yourself, but i would suggest you first learn python, python is very powerful yet easy (though i still suck, lol) you can use it on any platform (windows, linux or mac, so its not a problem for you to worry about)
you should go to the pyhon websit, just google it.
you should also check out thenewboston on youtubes python tutorials, its version 2.x he is using but it still covers the fundamentals in a basic (easy to understand) manner, so you should get on pretty well.
als ocheck out googles python class. the differences between python 2.x and python 3.x are slim, so you should learn python 2.x first, (because its got more tutorials, and the gui tollkits are better for this) then upgrade to 3.x when you feel its time (i would say when pyside is available for 3.x (pyside being a gui toolkit)) will take you ten minutes to learn the differences.

to summarise, download and install python, learn it using web tutorials (on the python site, google code class, and youtube) and you should be fine.

p.s you should also consider getting a unix like operating system and learning to use it, i would recommend ubuntu. you can run it as an application inside windows, or you could set up a dual boot, or just run it from a disc or usb flashdrive

Learning programming is just studying and practicing (programming is more exiting than i made it sound), I learn programming from books not youtube tutorials, i only go on tutorials when i don't understand something in the books.
