Can people read your private messages to others on Facebook?

I just realized that in 2012, I had written messages to few other people on Facebook and never gotten around to deleting (either conversation or messages). Nothing harmful, but nonetheless, personal, some to celebrities as a fanl.

Can other people access these conversations and messages that I personally wrote to others? I would think that they were "for my eyes only."

If you write on your wall or on others walls its not private.
Commenting on a status or photo is also not private.

Private chats on Facebook are through chat and inbox messages.

Only if they had access to your account would they be able to see your personal messages.
