How do I disable unnecessary Iphone data???
Hi my name is Jen and. I recently upgraded to the iphone 4s 16 GB and my usage says this so far: Storage 13.0 GB available and 588 MB used. (Is this good?) I really hope I didn't go over the limit or anything. I don't have any music, games, pictures (etc) and I didn't play any games, go on the internet, email, launch siri or any type of apps because I'm on a tight budget at this time. I heard about turning airplane mode off along with cellular data and I turned off a lot of things. ( So far all of these things are disabled my phone: Facetime, Siri, Airplane Mode, Roaming, Cellular data, Wifi, Bluetooth and Diagnostics & Usage is on Do Not Send (It used to be on Automatic) I don't have iCloud set up or Twitter and Facebook) All notifications are off in my notification list including the government alerts. I checked Cellular Usage and it says that I sent 153 KB of Cellular Network Data and Received 1.4 MB) Only things are on are iMessage and Send as SMS. I don't launch any games, iTunes, weather apps, or anything else. Are there any other apps that I need to turn off? Is there anything I'm missing? And is 588 MB usage a lot because I'm really nervous about the next bill?

153kb is next to nothing for data used check you contract to see how much is included and keep an eye on it. Try to use your home wifi or other free wifi sources to keep your usage down

That usage wont affect your bill, thats just storage on your phone not data transfer. Thats fine.

Thats really a small amount of data transfer you have listed, the easy thing to do if you want to monitor your data usage is that most carriers have a free app that you can check this with, I use the at&t app so check the appstore and you should have one .... it tells you everything like how many msgs, how many minutes calling, and how much data transfer .... and what you have remaining with your plan, that makes it easy to monitor it.

Really the bottom line is your data transfer will be high if you watch alot of video like youtube, etc. I use apps everyday on my iphone to check stocks, sports, etc. .... thats all fairly meaningless data transfer and I use it daily ... but I never watch video on the phone or use facetime, so if you are someone that does watch alot of video just make sure you are on wifi which is free and doesn't count against your data transfer.
