Microsoft surface tablet?
I currently don't have a computer or laptop, at all. And in thinking that the surface tablet would be REALLY cool, and it's relatively cheap. But I'm kinda worried that its bit an actual laptop. You know how iPad or nexus can't do certain stuff? Like play computer games, or transfer files or download stuff. I want to know if the surface does everything that a regular computer or laptop can do, cause their motto says "tablet when you want it, laptop when you need it". I just wanna make sure if I need it, it'll do it. So if you have one, please tell me about it. Give me a heads up

Windows 8 is a pain in the ****.

If you are going to go with a tablet go with Ipad.

Plus with the Surface tablet, you have to buy the keypad extra which isnt cheap

No, an inexpensive Surface will not be able to support legacy applications because they run Windows RT, you will only be able to run apps from the Windows App Store. The Windows 8 Pro Surface comes out early next year: http://www.microsoft.com/Surface/en-US/s...8-pro/home

But if you don't want to wait, you can find an inexpensive laptop that has Windows 8 on it that will provide support for both legacy applications and Windows 8 Apps.

First of all there are two types of Microsoft surface tablets

-Windows RT Tablet
can only download and run apps from the windows store online. You can't run any software or install any windows software on this tablet. It is strictly apps that you can run from the windows store only. ($500 to $600)

-Windows 8 Tablet
This is more like a laptop you can install any windows software on this tablet and run it. Plus you can run and install apps from the Windows Store online. Price is really expensive ($800 and above). The Windows 8 tablet is supposed to come out sometime in January 2013.

*Personally I would just get a laptop since it can do so much more. $800 for a tablet is too expensive and plus you would have to buy accessories for it such as a keypad cover etc. which adds more to the cost.

it is a tablet that can do many of the things and functions that a laptop can do
get the Microsoft surface RT
it really is an amazing tablet
it has a 10.6" screen with very good and high resolution
colors look clear and sharp on it
the tablet build quality is amazing
it feels perfect and its made from solid materials
the os on the tablet which is windows 8 is also amazing
its fast and fluid and also simple and easy to use
its made with touch in mind
the web browser is extremely good its fast and pages load up quickly
and it supports flash which is a huge plus and which is something that is lacking on most android tablets and all ios tablets
battery life is very good and would easily get you through more than 10 hours of heavy use
you can download apps from the windows marketplace which has many high quality apps
thousands of apps are being added everyday
more than 2000apps were added in less than 2 days
it does have more than 25000 apps now and like I said it will keep on increasing
it has dual cameras and both of them take amazing photos and videos
it has deep social network integration(skype, facebook, twitter, linkedin… and so on)
you also get Microsoft office 2013 for free on it
and if you get the keyboard and attach it to it you'll have a laptop
overall the surface is an amazing tablet and you should get it
hope i helped Smile
