My computer keeps crashing?
Okay, so my computer keeps crashing every ten minutes or so and I can't figure out why. I don't get an error message, I've don tons of maintenance (Disk defrag, Disc cleanup, uninstalling everything useless, deleting useless files). It isn't getting hot, as I keep one of those laptop cooling fan things under it. I'm afraid to take it apart since it's under warranty. It is a Dell Laptop purchased less than a year ago with all original parts except the hard drive (I dropped it and took it to the geek squad and the only issue was a broken hard drive which they replaced...I have never had prior issues with it.) My version of Windows 7 is also not genuine if that could possibly be part of it?

My guess is that it is hacked?
If you still can't figure I think the best way is to send it back, it is probably still within warranty right?

OK you might have a virus... don't freak just google on how to get rid of them ( i personally use VIPRE because it has a lifetime subscription!) and my friend had the exact same problem after lightning struck his. but look at your fan area's and see if there is ton's of dust block the ventilation. if nothing else you still have a warranty...

Hello Hannah,

I am from Dell Social Media and Community.

If Geek Squad replaced your hard drive with a Dell hard drive, follow the link below to run a basic hardware test on your system.

If you get any error code, you can associate it to the list given in the link below.

If you are unable to run the test, follow the link below to resolve system heating issue.
