How can I advertise my youtube video so it can be seen?
I am a vocalist, and it is very difficult to get a fan base. Although two of my videos have got over 2,000 views (One is nearly at 4,000), i find it difficult, getting comments and likes, and most of all, shares.

Here is my latest video:

Please don't post your opinions, just techniques on advertising. It's the internet, so people like to hate and troll. I avoid replying.

There are several ways you can get free views and subscribers using the many free exchanges out there. Here are some of the ones that I use:

http://vagex.com/?ref=31163
http://view2.be/?ref=6848
http://www.u2bviews.com/referral/14035/
http://www.addsocials.com/?r=5699
http://www.viewtubetrain.net/index.php?r=enterscope2

You gain points or credits by viewing other videos and then you can assign credits to your own videos to receive views back. Most of these sites have automated video shuffling so you don't have to keep clicking videos and you can leave it running to earn credits.

Here are some other great social sites that you can share your links on:

http://www.stumbleupon.com
http://www.delicious.com

first off don't ever do sub for sub or spam people, it gets really annoying but I'm guessing you already know that. The best technique I would offer is leaving your videos as responses to other popular youtubers who do similar things. Most will have their video responses set to approval only but if you are replying with something that is similar they will usually allow it. A few good channels to leave video responses to are http://www.youtube.com/user/tonjesml, Check out her youtube story and you'll understand right away why she pretty much always allows video responses, assuming the response has something to do with the original content that she posted (ex. covering the same song she covered, covering one of her songs that sort of thing). There are plenty more youtube musicians who I could say but once you find meghan you'll find the rest without much of a challenge. The best place to find more youtube musicians is DFTBA.com. Majority of the artists signed with DFTBA Records are people who will allow you to leave video responses to their videos. Hope this helps.

lol S4S is about building 'potential' views in an expanding network. Your network.
Getting your channel/video's viewed is all about content, presentation and networking. You must then keep 'Growing' your channel and it's audience.

To get views you need:
a) Good content.
And/or:
b) Good 'tag' words. The more the better (Youtube dose have an upper limit on the number though).
c) A good video description.
d) A good network of contact's and subscribers.
e) Getting 'Likes'.
f) Don't forget to 'Share' your video's and 'Post a Bulletin' to your friends.
g) Video respond with your videos.

So, good content is the hard one. There are no rules, but try to be original, or stick to a theme, or both. Here's an example. Have a look at this:
http://www.youtube.com/user/EbensR4Real#...S0QDMl_H0A
The trick is to engage your viewer from the start, and keep them watching till the end. Hard to get your video 'Liked', if it's not watched in total.

Tagging your video with as many of the right words is very important. People find your video's with these 'Tags'. Use many tags.

Always do a full, and detailed description of your video (this will help when Google 'crawls' for videos). Provide links as needed.

Make contacts (friends). Reach out to other similar channels, and [Add Contact]. Offer Sub4Sub to increase your subscribers.

Double check your editing (smooth transitions, clean/even audio, ECT) before uploading. Sloppy editing on your videos, effect your chances of getting 'Likes'. Remember too 'Like' your own video (people in your network will see this, and be only one click away from watching your video).

After uploading:
Use the [Share] button, to put your video's on FaceBook/Twitter/MySpace/ETC.
On your channel, use the [Post Bulletin] to send your video (with a message) to all your friends.

Post video response to your own video's. Seach for videos similar to your own, and then post your video's as a response.

Channel design and multiple views:
Thought should be given to your channels appearance (back ground, colour scheme, play list's, profile wording, ect). A nicely designed channel, with multiple playlists will encourage your visitors to stay and watch more video's. Don't forget to turn your [Auto play] on.

Remember, you want people to visit your channel (so they can see your video's & click that [Subscribe] button), so you need to comment on other channel pages. Then, when people reply, they will come to your channel page. Be careful of spamming. Some people get very upset.

Also you might want to add a [Sub Me] or [Channel link] annotation to your video's.

Hope this helps.

Don't forget to sub and [Add Contact] me (growing your channel begins now) on the above channel. Leave a comment saying you did, and I'll hit you back :~)
