Am I too innocent and boring?
i'm 14, and the majority of the girls in my school are very...idk how to say it. they dress in heels, low tight shirts that show a lot of cleavage, super short shorts or tight leggings, HEELS?! and they wear horrible makeup (raccoon eyes) and have had from 3-10 boyfriends. I haven't met one person who doesn't curse, and the people in my school try to be ghetto and stuff and curse a lot.
Idk maybe i'm too...innocent. even my own aunt has said it. I always wear clothes that cover my body and don't show off any cleavage WHATSOEVER I would be so ashamed to be seen by my parents and embarrassed if I ever even did. I wear pretty clothes, but not like the girls in my school do. i'm saving heels for my high school years (16,17) and I wear light, natural pretty makeup. I don't curse and i'm really quiet because I don't like to engage with those type of people who curse and dress like that...so people think i'm weird. people mistaken me for a 7th grader. I mean, I watch shows like glee, American horror story, etc...and i'm caught up with those annoying "dirty" jokes and I'm not STUPID I just don't like saying them.
is there something wrong with me?

oh, and while almost every girl in my school has had a boyfriend, i'm embarrassed to have one!

oh and I don't have an fb, twitter, instagram, ANYTHING. I think it's a waste of time, and people are shocked and continuously bug me about it.

You sound awesome. People are stupid. You are wonderful. Somebody raised you right. Stay the course and don't listen to your aunt. She sounds like a bad influence.

Just be yourself. Don't lose who you are to satisfy or make others happy. Do what makes you happy. You're not weird, you're SMART. I wish all the 14 year olds started thinking like you. There's very few girls out there like you, don't let these people who are nobody take away how unique you are.
I agree, all the social networking sites are a waste of time. I had all the ones you listed and deleted them one by one a couple months ago. They're useless.

I am just like you, just ignore those people, they are just trying to grow up too fast, basically kids in middle school act like they are the coolest people around, they can curse and dress inappropriately because they can, they aren"t in elementary school anymore. I also agree that fb, twitter, ect...ect... are a complete waste of time, don"t worry, high school will be better, trust me Smile

Its tough not to compare yourself with others, specially when ur young and in a school full of kids all day.
If it makes you feel any better, im into the more reserved type. Time is on your side, you'll run into someone who u feel comfortable around, who you'll want to open up to ect ect

And I don't use fb or twitter, just not my style.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with you. You are perfect the way you are and you need to stay that way. DO NOT give in to the peer pressure around you and only tell your self what is right and what is wrong. Don't start acting like these people because kids these days are horrid. You are on the path of success and you need to stay on that path. Don't try to be what you're not. Oh and one more thing. If you have a boyfriend that is trying to get you to do things you don't want to do like curse and act a way you don't want to act it is very simple to just say no and fallow what you think is right.

Never change yourself to fit in with people who make themselves a certain way just so they feel cool. The reason most girls dress slutty and think they need boyfriends is because they themselves have a lot of problems. Same goes for people who curse all the time and constantly spout dirty jokes.

You sound well rounded to me.Don't think of yourself as less cool or "innocent" because of your standards. Lots of people have no standards and are completely miserable even if they don't show it. Be happy with yourself and be proud of being who you are, someone who doesn't need to conform to what others do and how others act. I'm 18 and I don't have a boyfriend, I don't dress badly, I don't curse, I don't watch MTV 24/7 and I rarely wear heels. And despite some people thinking of me as "boring" a "good girl" or "weird geek" I am far happier with my life and who I am than they are (from one girl to another.) Never let the hidden insecurities of others make you insecure.
