What does # mean when people post #Klasik or #whatever on Facebook?
I've been seeing a lot of the # symbol on peoples posts and I am not familiar with it and do not know what to search for its meaning? I suspect it has something to do with tablets or smartphones since I have not owned one or used one, only laptops and desktops, or perhaps a social networking site I have not used.

It's a hashtag. It was first used on twitter to categorize tweets so that people could search for certain things by looking for tweets with the hashtag(#) in them

They are called Hashtags and are used on Twitter. I see people using them on facebook all the time which is ridiculous since they are pointless on the site.

It's a twitter thing, I guess it infected facebook too...it's just saying what the post relates to or what the poster is feeling. Like in "best day ever! #sarcasm", you can tell he's having a crappy day. It kind of "categorizes" the post in multiple different areas, it helps determine what's "trending" right now.

# <-- called hashtags.
Mainly used with people who have twitter or instagram, using it on facebook is totally useless.
