Why does my internet slow down to a fraction of it's normal speed at around the same time during the day?
At around 5:00-5:30 my internet connection slows down to a painful fraction of what it usually runs during the day, and I usually only get to use it on weekends because of this. I can open text-only pages like facebook and wikipedia, but they take atleast 30 seconds to load, and it's just a pain. I can't play online games that require internet, like Call of Duty and League of Legends. Help please? Any suggestions are appreciated.

If you are sure it is your internet connection, your modem could possibly be the culprit. I'm having a similar issue, various times through out the day. Prior to comcast supplying me with a replacement modem, internet speed including download speed was fine. Been researching at a few sources, including the one below.

You probably have cable internet. This shares a connection with other people in your area. At peak times, like 5:00 on an average weekday, a large number of people are using the same cable connection to access the internet, causing slowdown in the area. DSL may have a lower speed, but it's more likely to stay constant than a higher speed cable connection.

Hope this helps!

Utorrent is a bittorrent program. This means that it can take files with the extension "torrent" and use them to begin a download. Torrent files are special files that allow users to exchange videos, music and other files directly to one another over the Internet. Each user downloads a different piece of the file at the same time, which allows for many people to send and give the same file all at once. However, sometimes this can be slow due to various factors. Maximizing the download speed in Utorrent will ensure a quick download.
