Pop ups are not a good idea. People just ignore them and won't take any interest in it because of how it was forced on them. Ads on the side of websites is a good way. People will look at these willingly because it just happens to be there and it's not forced on them. Also, there's a new advertisement where if you roll over the ad then it pops up with a video that your business made. I personally am willing to look at the ads that aren't forced on you. I don't mind the video ones either. I hate the ones that just start throwing audio at you when the page loads. Ex: "Congratulations you just won a free Ipod!" You guys know what i'm talking about. The pop ups are just annoying... Go with the ads on the side of the website page.
