How to talk to someone without being creepy on FB?

One of my Facebook friends has been having some really bad emotional problems, I can tell by the some of their post. They sound really suicidal and depressed. I wanted to talk to her because my sister is going through the same thing and I know some things that might be able to help her some. We don't know eachother well, so I don't want to be creepy. How should I go about it or should I just not do it at all??

Is this a person you see at all in person? If not, reach out via a private facebook message. I wouldn't address the suicidal part though, just lend out a hand and be a friend to her, perhaps that is all she needs. Whatever you do though, do not sit back and do nothing.
