question about guild wars 2?

okay im kinda late to the guild wars 2 beta scene decided to play it today to see if its what its hyped up to be. okay log in, get to the home world screen, i picked ilse of janthir. did i make a big no no? meaning theres 2 reasons im up here 1st i want to get people to play with and i want to make sure since this is the beta when they wipe your account will you be to switch servers? anyways imma post this on a official forum as well, not sure what you will need to add me on guild wars 2, my account name is Product Of Fallout(dont remember whats after the hashtag) im not going to put my email associated to the account up here message m.harper757@gmail.com if you want to play and ill add you then
i know its not always up, im looking for people to play with pre launch so i can get into the same server as them, instead of running around in my server post launch trying to find people

While the game is in beta, it is not available all the time at the moment. If you have signed up, then keep checking your email. ArenaNet will notify you when the servers will be open for beta events and stress tests (stress test going on now as I write this). Another good resource is http://www.gamebreaker.tv. They are very current on the game.

Yes, there will definitely be a full wipe before the headstart kicks off (before release date), so at that time you will be able to create new characters and pick another world. In fact, during all beta weekends they have given people the opportunity to switch to a different world as well (even after launch you can still change your home world if you should so desire, by purchasing a world transfer from the in-game store). So no need to worry, the choice you have made is definitely not permanent.

With regard to meeting people to play with... I recommend joining one of the community forums - for example the one below (very friendly). If you want you can also join one of the many GW2 guilds so that you can team up with people with the same interests as you and play with them after launch as well.
