Facebook: Re-friend Family Members?
I just took them off my facebook, and already I'm feeling guilt-tripped by this, even though I did it so I could feel a small sense of privacy. I would tell them, but I can't bring myself to. Should I just go resend a friend request, or leave it as it as and hope they don't misunderstand?

No - don't refriend your family as Facebook is a GREAT place for someone to spy on anyone. My older sister married a complete dickhead and, because of facebook, my entire family now knows I cannot stand him (so I unfriended my sister and now there's peace).
My own mother unfriended me about a year ago, "Oh, your videos are so SILLLEEEE!" (she told me - I use my profile as a practice Youtube channel these days and friends "liking" what I post is an indication whether they're improving or not, which they aren't, so it's just a hobby now). The only family I now have on my friendlist is my older brother and his wife (who is) my sister in law (obviously). DON'T refriend your family. If you want to communicate with them, send them a text on your cellphone (or whatever people use these days, I just text people). Consider yourself lucky if you still speak to them (mum now mocks me about hating my brother in law even though I'm never openly rude to him - he's such a putz). |
