Why is Facebook crashing my internet?
I am using a macbook and every time I open Facebook it crashes the internet within a few minutes. My facebook account works elsewhere and other ID's on my macbook also crash. All other websites work normally and cause no problem. I have run an anti virus scan and found no problems. Any suggestions on what to do?

Malfunctioning Add-Ons are Installed

Add-ons, also called plug-ins are a set of software components that add specific capabilities to a large software application. For example, add-ons are commonly used in web browsers to play specific type of videos, view PDF files online and to scan files for viruses.

The Facebook website tab in your web browser crashes if the installed add-ons are not working properly. You need to remove such malfunctioning add-ons.

1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Click Tools | Manage Add-Ons.
3. Select All Add-Ons option from the Show drop-down box.
4. Select the malfunctioning add-ons, and disable them.
5. Click Close.
6. Restart the web browser.

Toolbars Take More Time for Loading

Many web browsers support installing third-party toolbars for the sake of simplicity for using various types of services. These toolbars contain various controls like buttons, images and text boxes that need more time for loading. A toolbar taking more time for loading may crash Facebook website tab. You shall disable and close down the third-party toolbars.

1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Click View | Toolbars.
3. Uncheck the third-party toolbars.
4. Restart the web browser.

Repair Shared DLLs and ActiveX Objects

DLL refers to Dynamic Link Library files. DLL files support sharing resources within various programs and tasks. For example, source codes and multimedia contents like images, videos, etc.

ActiveX is a framework for defining reusable software components in a programming language independent way. Software applications can then be composed from one or more of these components in order to provide their functionality.

Facebook website tab may crash if the Shared DLLs and ActiveX Objects are corrupted. These corrupted files crash your Facebook tab and thereby your web browser. You need to repair them as soon as possible.

Repairing Shared DLLs and ActiveX Objects:

It is not possible to repair these files manually. You will need a third-party Registry Cleaner and PC Optimizer program for performing this task.

Use some secured program such as reginout cleaner.

Delete the Junk Files

Storing too many junk files wastes your hard disk space and creates problems in performing various tasks. Facebook website tab crashes if your computer is running in the Low Disk Space situation. You have to free-up the disk space by cleaning up the junk files using third-party system cleaner product.
