What would cause chrome to freeze Windows 7 64bit?
I can visit a website and chrome freezes then the computer freezes no mouse, can't do alt+ctrl+del to get task manager up or anything. The freeze last about 10 seconds then it returns to normal no freezing but when I restart my computer and go on chrome looking on the internet I'll get that 10 second freeze again. I at first thought it was only sites that had allot of flash but that's not the case. This page will reproduce the freeze:

Whatever is on this site is causing chrome to freeze my computer. I tested it. I first go on chrome it load my homepage fine no freezing. I go on say facebook no freezing. I visit the above link and that page freezes computer 10 seconds. After that I can go in and out of that page and nothing happens all is fast. I restart my computer and repeat all I did above and same thing happens that page freeze for 10 seconds just once tell next reboot.

So whatever is on that site is on some other sites and its cause chrome to do this. Do you know whats going on and how to fix?

This has been happening for a while its just now starting to get on my nerves. I recently did a re-install of windows 7 64bit not because of this problem but because I got a new bigger hard drive. I thought the re-install would have fixed it but it did not. I sure the computer is clean of viruses.

I have a intel core 2 quad processor 3.0GHz and 4gb's of ram. AVG virus protection. Chrome is the only browser doing it. Everything else is fast.

Oh I'm using Chrome Version 23.0.1271.97 m it says its the newest.
Ok after trying just about everything I could think of and researching on the internet I have found that disabling the service IP Helper has stopped my freeze problem.

But I have a new problem. I disable IP helper and it stays disable tell I restart the computer then it goes right back to manual and starts running again. So what would cause it to change back to manual after restart.

Suggest update Windows 7, update JAVA. check your DirectX, check to see if you have the latest drivers for your computer. Then run CCleaner and MalwareBtye. You can get them both from Filehippo dot com. I just went to your link and it didn't freeze on me. I'm using Chrome with Win 7 64x. Could be your internet too. Check your speed at. http://www.speedtest.net/ Hope that helped.

Try disabling ALL extensions and try again. If that fails, try viewing in an alternative browser. If that fails, reset your router, if that fails then I have failed you. If disabling extensions worked, then an extension is not compatible with the site. If viewing it on a different browser works, re-install chrome and try again on chrome. If the router works, then you may have just had connection problems.

I've had the same issue but with a different website. The only difference is my computer has an i7 quad core at 2.6 GHz. All I can guess is it may have a bug with quad core CPU's. I use Chrome on my other Windows 7 computer with a Core 2 Duo 2.20 GHz and it has no issues
