I feel I belong on this site but feel out of place on social networking sites. Why is this?

On here, I am not judged or condemned, in fact many people have told me I am helpful and intelligent. On social media sites like facebook I am judged and condemned and often attacked for my thoughts and not looking as pretty as other girls do. I feel intelligence goes further than looks and popularity. It is as if women compete against each other on facebook. I am damned for having no profile pic and bullied when I do. to me it shouldn't be about looks or popularity. On this site, I feel at home and like I belong.
