How to go offline on android Facebook chat?

Hi i dont want to be online all the time on facebook from my HTC i want to be more offline but it seems that i cant find the option to go offline,can anyone help me with this ? when i go offline from my pc it still says 'Your messages will be sent to Jason's phone' and it has a little sign of a phone by my name in the chat! HELP PLEASE?

I have a HTC phone and use facebook. If you don't want your phone slammed with facebook messages you need to go to facebook on your phone. On the upper left side of your phone click on the 3 bars and will open a side bar. Scroll down almost to the bottom and click on account When you click on account will say log off and will ask you if you want to log off say yes and you are out of your facebook account hope this helps.

open up the Facebook app, go to chat and you're online.
press menu > go offline and you're disconnected from chat.
go out of chat feature and back into the main Facebook app, go back into Facebook chat and you're online again.
