What does hash tag mean?
Everyone is always talking about hashtag... i no its something with twitter but what? Btw fallow me on twitter @ashley_knodel

A hash tag refers to any keyword that follows a hash character ("#"). The Twitter software treats #tag specially, because it allows users to search for "#something".
For example, I could tweet: I like beer. Fine, no big deal. But if I say instead I like #beer then people can search for #beer and the software can count how many people are talking about beer ("trending" topics). Ads |

A hashtag is a word with a "#" symbol before it. You can see what it's used for on twitter's help page.

Where you trend something like #smosh so its trending world wide..or you can put it randomly before words such as i love #cookies |

Its a tag used to talk about an especif subject on twitter.
Once all the users use it, it gets a lot easier to search subjects at the http://search.twitter.com/ its the (#) sign |
