How to increase Video Memory on Intel 915gm/gms 910gml?
Hi. I have a Dell Latitude D610 with a Pentium M 750 1.86Ghz, 2.5Gb RAM, and an Intel 915gm/gms 910gml graphics card. the Processor only reads 2gb of ram and I was wondering if I could use the 512mb RAM chip to make the graphics memory larger, since I know that the 915gm is a UMA card. If this isn't possible, I was also wondering how to turn off the dynamic memory switching since nothing I run will never ask for more than 1gb of ram due to the processor. Thanks.
The BIOS doesn't have any kind of options for editing it, I have Dell BIOS A06 so I'm not sure if I need to upgrade but even if i do, I don't even know how to.
I also have to say that the video BIOS doesn't help at all.

James,

The Latitudeâ„¢ D610 utilizes the integrated 915GM/PM graphics chipset for video display. This chipset does not have any dedicated video memory. Instead the chipset utilizes DVMT technology to share system memory. Drivers for the 915GM/PM video chipset are not native to the operating systems offered on the Latitude D610.

NOTE: The amount of video memory is sized accordingly to the amount of the system memory installed (64 MB DVMT memory for 256 MB system memory, 128 MB DVMT memory for 512 MB or more system memory).
You can start the computer and press the F2 key to enter the bios. Once in the system bios tab or arrow over to the "System" Tab. If you are able to turn off Dynamic Memory Switching this is where you would be able to make the change.

Thank You,
