Is it true that Facebook / Twitter info could raise my insurance premiums?
I heard that social media were used as a pool of info for insurers who use it to raise or alter insurance premiums. Is it true and would you let your broker be your FB friend? I've been in contact with mine through fb messenger in the past, but now I'm thinking this may have been a mistake. Any thoughts?

Of course you wouldn't let your broker or the insurance company be your facebook friend.
Do you trust facebook security to keep your profile hidden? I don't weekly, fb announces that there was a security breach. that added with facebook changing settings all the time too = it's highly likely that your profile is available to others periodically. Is the insurance company going to be searching for you? doubtful but it's still not smart to post anything that an insurance company / employer shouldn't be seeing. Ads |
