New to tumblr, need tips?

So I finally got around to making one, and it's not as bad as I thought it would be
I was just wondering if anyone had some good tips on how I can gain some followers?

#1 Use your existing network
Everyone has a Facebook account right? Link your Tumblr account to other established social networking accounts like Facebook and Twitter. Use this application to link Tumblr to Facebook.

Post interesting content. Tumblr is another great social network for viral marketing tactics. Keep your posts short and concise. Images tend to get a lot of attention on Tumblr. Go on websites like DevianART and see if there are any interesting images you can upload (don’t forget to credit the artist).

#3 Yahoo Answers
Sign up for a Yahoo and head over to their Answers feature. Answer any relevant questions and post your Tumblr link as reference. It would be wise to post the answer on your Tumblr page first before creating the reference or else your response will be flagged as spam.

#4 Make use of tags
Go on google and type in the following: site:tumblr.com “tagged/” KEYWORD. Replace KEYWORD with any relevant tags. Now install SeoQuake and check the page ranks of any relevant tag pages. If the tag has a high page rank but low number of post counts then use them to your advantage.
