Yesterday there was a twitter trend "#reasons to beat up your girlfriend."
Of course, it sparked an immediate outcry and everybody was saying how terrible domestic violence and beating women is.

Then someone started the "reasons to beat up your boyfriend", but instead of people saying how bad domestic violence is then, people started laughing ans saying things like (and I quote from tweets I saw
" He plays video games too much"
"No reason, JUST BEAT HIM"
" if you're in a bad mood and need someone to take it out on."

so its ok to violently assault your boyfriend if you just feel like it?

its completely BS how much of a double standard there is in domestic violence against men

I'd tend to agree. It is BS. But the fact of the matter is women beating up on men gets less attention than men beating up on women. How many homeless shelters have you seen for battered men? As sad as it is, it does happen and the only homeless shelter I've ever seen for battered men is jail.
I don't think anyone should ever beat up on anyone, male or female. Beating up or battering on someone hurts them physically, emotionally and lowers their self-esteem. Why would you want to do that to someone you care for? Better to walk away, cool off and talk about it later when you're not as angry.
