Has anyone ever heard of a BOT virus?

Is it something that another person could have done to my computer. It effects Facebook and Search Engines on Mozilla Firefox. On other browsers it doesn't effect them.

What a bot virus is a fake person in a chat room or facebook etc. That directs you to porn sites

There are many forms of Bot viruses...here is the newest "undetectable threat"...that will close your computer up...and make it die........Even the people as Kaspersky AV labs are nervous about this one......

Yes there are bot, boot viruses or bootkits or viruses that modifies Master Boot Record(MBR).
Whether your system has bots, bootkit or not depends on the symptoms. There are bootkits that patch system drivers causing search engine redirects.
I assume you mean "bot" which is derived from the word "robot" which automates tasks, it interacts automatically with instant messaging or internet relay chat. Some websites are also using bots to collect information, but bots can also be used maliciously.

Since your only affects Firefox try GooredFix.
Please download GooredFix and save it to your Desktop.

Double-click GooredFix.exe on your Desktop to run it.

Select "2. Fix Goored" by typing 2 and pressing Enter.
Make sure all instances of Firefox are closed at this point.
Type y at the prompt and press Enter again.
