How to get rid of FB for good?
I've gotton rid of it twice. Once on winter break and then just recently, but I keep coming back to it. Like.. It's addicting, it's weird and hard to explain but it feels weird without it. How can I get rid of facebook for good? please help?

when you go to delete it forever change your password to something like "saoldsaldkjsadj" and then deactivate it (if you need to use the password to confirm, copy and paste the password somewhere while you're changing it)

You wont get rid of it and you'll always be curious what's going on in your friend's lives (getting a social life and so forth like other answers have said is obviously a preferable way to do it, but I don't think it's absolutely necessary to do that and get rid of your account completely).

Why don't you change your name (for a start)? I have a friend who recently went through a marital separation, obviously hit her hard, and she almost immediately changed her name to something silly which isn't her real name (I got the sense part of the problem was spending too much time online).

Point being, having her fake name looked odd and, personally, I was less inclined to bug her (I only found out about her personal issue just before she left Facebook) because I saw the silly name and just thought, "What? She must be having a bad time in life, I only know her online so it's not my place to annoy her right now" (so I didn't, as others around you may stop doing also resulting in you having more time AND keeping your facebook account).

I also tried to find ways of using it less and I did find a few ideas : 1) join a group and ONLY post on that (eg a hobby group), never send anyone messages or post status updates implying you want a response (no egs come to mind but I'm sure there is one), 2) post insanely stupid videos (non porno or anything stupid like that, I literally mean being creative but probably annoying anyone else like some Youtube channel which is mediocre-bad). I do this each Sunday and 90% on my friendlist have unsubscribed to me (now I have LOTS of time to do not alot on there so I'm never there for long, just to post on a few groups), 3) play either Bejeweled Blitz or Tetris Battle - both are stupidly addictive games and you'll probably not feel like talking to anyone after using either (especially Tetris, it's RIGGED).

Last idea (and I say this as PURELY an observation and nothing more) your avatar appears quite attractive; ugly yourself up or guys will FIND a reason to talk to you - heck, change your photo for a cartoon, just not a face pic of yourself which might attract someone.

You don't need to get rid of your profile, I doubt you'll do it forever, so learn to need it less and keep it.
