How do you add new applications for Facebook?

I'm new in Facebook and I've seen there are a lot of applications to add, but I can add the ones my contacts already have. How can I add new applications? Thanks

In the left column where it lists all of the apps you already have there's a link. It says Applications at the top and has an 'edit' link next to it. If you click it it will show you all of the applications that exist, you can read about them and add them.
