What do you think about #TurnToIslam trending worldwide on Twitter?

As a person who is very open minded I have found that Islam is a loving and beautiful religion, even though I am a strong Christian. Unfortunately in recent years due to a minority of extremists, Islam has had a lot of negative media coverage. So when I saw #TurnToIslam trending I could not help but think this is going to provoke anger amongst many who are unaware of the real teachings of the Qur’an. Also I felt it is a little inappropriate, Twitter is not the place to promote absolutistic ideas or meta-narratives, religion is a personal choice and when any one religion is promoted too vigorously it seems to have a negative effect. Turn to God may have been a better idea or to not start the trend at all; what do you think?

I think it's sad that ancient ignorant superstitions still hold sway over so many ignorant people in the 21st century. All religions are included in that group.

The irrational reliance on faith and the need to spread religion is like a virus. It will opportunistically evolve to take advantage of any ecological niche it can find, in this case modern communication technology.

The study of religion is similar to epidemiology and evolution. You have a replicator, and an environment that selects for the survival of certain replicators. Successful ones are prevalent in the population. When two or more replicators come in contact, there is a struggle for survival. "Nature, red in tooth and claw."

Quran (9:73) - "O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the hypocrites and be unyielding to them; and their abode is hell, and evil is the destination."
Quran (9:88) - "But the Messenger, and those who believe with him, strive and fight with their wealth and their persons: for them are (all) good things: and it is they who will prosper."
Quran (9:123) - "O you who believe! fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you hardness."
Quran (17:16) - "And when We wish to destroy a town, We send Our commandment to the people of it who lead easy lives, but they transgress therein; thus the word proves true against it, so We destroy it with utter destruction."

Spreading the word of truth (Islam) is wonderful, regardless of how it is done.
You can spread it in person through beautiful preaching, or even through Twitter.

In the recent times many Muslims have been accused of terrorism.
Those Muslims who committed crime against innocent people will be punished in this life but surely Allah will punish them in the life here after as what they have done is unislamic.

The Quran is the last revelation from God sent to the last Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

Quran is the only religious book that gives the importance of protecting the innocent.

In the Quran it says : Killing one innocent person is like killing the whole of humanity and saving one innocent is like saving the whole of humanity.

This is included the innocent Muslims and Non-Muslims.

So if you are to count how many innocent people handful of Muslims killed is no where near the atrocities committed by the Christians .

Lets look at how many innocent people the Christians killed:
Christian Hitler killed 5 million Jews.
Christian Americans killed a million innocent citizens in Vietnam.
Christian French killed over a million in Alegria
Christian Americans were lynching black people
Christian South African were killing innocent black people.
Over 35% of American citizens believe that 9 / 11 was an insider job - done by muslim or non-muslim it is barbaric.

Bible mentions the sword over 200 times and in the Quran it is not even mentioned once.

Now my Christian friends before you start screaming terrorism look at your own religion. Christianity is guilty of slaughter of innocent more than any other group of people. Christians you need to repent
