What do you do when there's nothing coming up on your virus scanners?

I will go to general websites like Myspace and Facebook and most commonly when I try to look at my friends pictures the page turns solid gray. The bottom left hand corner says its done loading at that point, and when I use AVG nothing is detected. Am I completely screwed?

get a malware/spyware scanner up date them and run em. malwarebtyes and/or spybot
