How to get my own song copyrights?
I am in a band and we are just finishing up recording our demo and we want to be able to post our music on all of the social media sites for promo., and we want to have the rights to our songs so we don't get boned... How would we go about doing this?

You already hold the copyright to your music just by having created and recorded it -- but if you'd like to create an official record of this, you can submit your registration to the US Copyright Office electronically. The cost is $35 -- there are some situations where you might be able to submit your entire album for $35, and others where you might have to break your submissions down into the songs -- it all depends on if the songwriter/year of completion/performer/any other information is consistent or not.

Good luck to you!
