How do I promote my website to the masses in order for it to be successful?

My website voterpowerusa.com was created to unite the American people to vote together by focusing on the issues they face in their lives everyday in order to get what they need and deserve from their government, rather then focusing on the labels that keep us divided, and take it away from the corporate lobbyist, special interest groups, and dishonest politicians. I've tried press releases- online and offline, social networking sites, message boards, groups, etc. Can you check my site to see where and if it is relavant and where it can be promoted. I don't have a lot of money. Please take this into consideration.

I haven't seen your site, but here are a few things you can look into, if you haven't already done them:

Register your site with the major search engines.

Provide relevant keywords to your hosting company.

Join online discussion groups that address your topic and add your Web site to your signature line.

Start a blog (free) and blog about related topics in the news. Provide a link to your Web site.

Try using sponsored ads on Yahoo -- you can limit your budget.
