Is deactivating a facebook account the same as deleting it?
I want to delete my account, as if it were never there to start with. I'm not sure if deactivating is the same as deleting and if not, how do I delete it completely? I am sorry I ever signed up for facebook, it makes my computer act crazy and run slowly. I am worried about viruses and I just want my account gone.

No; to deactivate an account is to make it inactive. You can reactivate it again by contacting Facebook.

To delete your account, search for the account termination link on Google or other search engine.

Hope that helps!
