How longs will things stay on the internet?
Generally, how long do internet accounts stay active? Are the facebook/myspace pictures and comments going to still be accessable in 50 years if I don't delete my profile?

Supposedly once something's reached the web, it's there forever. It makes sense considering it's accessible to the world. Even if you delete your info/pics someone can find them.

We'll all be dead by then from the world wide war. There will be no electricity, never mind computers or internet.

The Internet itself in some form or another will survive for the foreseeable future and then some.

A specific website will be up as long as someone keeps paying for it. However, a specific account will remain up only as long as someone keeps it active. If you don't log into that account then the website will remove you from it. The policy depends on the website in question, and is probably may clear in the terms and conditions that you agreed to when you opened an account there.

Myspace is sponsored by the ads that advertisers post on it so it will remain around for as long as people us it and those ads sell. I don't know the procedures for Myspace (it wasn't listed in the terms section of their website), but if you do not log in then after a while (much shorter than 50 years) your account will be canceled. I have seen periods of inactivity in an account that can close your account vary from 90 days to 6 months so it is save to assume that if you don't log into your account in less than a year then you can consider that account to be closed.

Sorry your presence on Myspace won't be eternal.
