How to remove virus(s) from my computer?
I downloaded one of those stupid things on facebook where it has a virus, and my computer's acting wierd. i have this Security Tool thing that keeps on bugging me, wanting my credit card info to buy the antivirus, not sure if it is part of the virus that is disguised. I have Windows 7. Is there some way i can manually remove the virus(s) from my computer.

try out different antivirus programs.
download.com has plenty of free ones.
if that doesn't work, backup ur files and reinstall.
(if u do that, consider using comodo time machine when you finish reinstalling)

Tough. DO NOT give your credit card number out. Bring it to some specialists. If you need to get a new computer, get it at Best Buy and specifically ask that Webroot Antivirus with Spy Sweeper is already installed.

You probably infected by spyware, first download Malwarebyte's malware removal tool it is one of the best free tool in its field.
http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-An...04572.html

Run a full scan on it just to make sure.

After that if you don't have an antivirus on your PC yet, i suggest getting Microsoft's latest free antivirus solution.

Do a full scan with it too. Should be fine after that Smile

Cheers!

It is trying to get your credit card number so it can charge on your card and not to sell you a legitimate security program. Do a search on the name of the program or "security tool" or whatever it is called and you might find a way to remove it. Never click on these links.

Launch your anti-virus program and click the "Update" button to install the latest virus and spyware definitions. If you do not have an anti-virus program, download and install AVG. It's free of charge.

Launch your program after it has installed and click the "Update" button on the left panel to download and install any new virus and spyware definitions. Close the program after updating it.

Download and install a free anti-malware program such as Malwarebytes' anti-malware.

Restart your computer and press "F8" repeatedly before you see the Windows logo. This will bring you to the Windows Advanced Options Menu.

Scroll down the menu and select "Safe Mode" to log into Windows Safe Mode.

Launch your antivirus program. Perform a a full system scan and delete all malicious files.

Launch Malwarebytes' anti-malware and click the "Perform quick scan" radio button. Click "Scan." Malwarebytes will scan the system for malicious malware.

Click "OK" when the scan is complete, then click "Show scan results." Place a check on all the detected malware and click "Remove selected." Malwarebyte's will remove all detected malware.

Restart your computer normally to complete the process.
