help with current affairs? (general knowledge)?

Basically, I have been set some homework to find examples of cases in the media involving social inclusion and social diversity. In other words, i need to find a few newspaper articles that are to do with equality and stuff like that. However, you can't really just type that into Google and expect to find something useful, if you know what I mean, I think it would help if I had a specific idea of what I was looking for, e.g a specific even that has been in the news.

Unfortunately, I do not know a lot about what's going on in the world, as I do not watch the news very often. I was wondering if anyone could suggest a recent event to do with equality, different types of people coming together, or people campaigning for equal rights. I would really appreciate any suggestions from people with their ear to the ground in terms of current affairs, and with a nit of general knowledge, as I have been really struggling with this homework. All I need is a suggestion or idea, and then I will happily do all my research into the topic.
