Why don't the churches take a more proactive stand vs the Internet?
The Internet and the Information Age are BY FAR the most threatening adversaries religion has ever faced. The 2008 American Census statistics show a 10% drop in religious people the past 20 years, while 'nonbelievers' nearly doubled from 8% to 15%.

Just think, you right now are using the very tool that may eventually put an end to organized religion as we know it!

The fact of the matter is, the internet and computer industry are one of the few industries still getting by in our crumbling global economy. Religion will never kill the internet. The social media on the internet will kill religion before it gets the chance.

Really? If that's true, this could be key to the downfall of Christianity, and religion in general. If only we could make that go much faster.

The most threatening adversary is our own pride. It was true in the Garden of Eden, and it remains true today. Blaming the tool is like blaming the gun if you shoot someone. You don't have to misuse a tool just because you have access to it. But, pride may cause you to misuse the tool.

access to information on the net or in the library has nothing to do with whether people are religious or not but i can see how the filth hollywood produces and which finds its way to television could destroy the morals and ethics of a society much like Rome's "entertainment" led to its self destruction.
